MaKey MaKey Potato Piano Fun

Dad and daughter teamed up today in the Think.Digital #Manstudio for a little MaKey MaKey Fun.  I bought one for a Christmas present for the girls, something a little different I thought for them to play with.  Deep down I was quite excited too as during a little research I came across this video.

Excitedly, I purchased ours from Education Technology Specialists online store and the parcel arrived a few days later on my doorstep.

Upon opening the box, I was presented with a joystick control circuit, some multicolours wires with aligator clips and some instructions.  I used the instructions (amazing I know) and within minutes had the MaKey MaKey interacting with my notepad on my MAC Book Air.  I then did the traditional Google Search and landed on MaKey MaKey How To’s.

I was very keen to get the banana piano happening, but being short on bananas I opted for potatoes. I called little ZoZo (Zoe) my 5 year old daughter into the manstudio to experiment with me. We followed through the instructions and explored the TRY OUT SOFTWARE, including the Bongos, Piano and MK-1. It was hilarious watching her reaction… our play time is captured below – enjoy.
